The Yannarumi assessment aims to take potential business partners on a journey through Ngarrindjeri principles of creation, connectivity, spirituality, responsibility, and relationships. These themes are reflected in Ngarrindjeri beliefs, tradition, lore and law.

 

Ngarrindjeri ask that prospective partners familiarise themselves with the following information in order to successfully undertake the Yannarumi self-assessment journey:

• Acknowledge Ngarrindjeri creation principles (Kaldowinyeri),

• Acknowledge the connectivity between the lands and waters and all living things (Ruwe/Ruwar),

• Acknowledge the importance of Ngarrindjeri peoples’ spiritual connection to Ruwe/Ruwar (Miwi),

• Acknowledge the importance of Ngarrindjeri peoples’ ability to speak as country (Yannarumi) and be able to take responsibility for the management of Ruwe/Ruwar, and

• Acknowledge the importance of relationships and partnerships (Ngiangiampe) within the Ngarrindjeri nation and between Ngarrindjeri and non-Indigenous stakeholders in making decisions for the health of Ruwe/Ruwar.
